Career Groups

Introducing our Four Career Groups

Our Virtual Internships Foundations Program has identified 4 career groupings that students can select from to begin their career exploration pathway. Students will complete their internship programs in a company working within a selected industry career group. This will allow students to gain crucial industry exposure while gaining a better understanding of the career pathways within the industry. All students regardless of career group will complete business and marketing projects for their supervisors following a set curriculum and support system.

Engineering & Computer Science

Completing an internship within our engineering and computer science field allows students to better understand how projects work in the industry as well as the language and terminology used. Students will learn about the different skills required within the STEM field so they can better understand their options when they take their next steps in education or the workforce.

Business & Finance

Students interested in learning more about how businesses are run should select this career group. Students will walk away with an increased understanding of business cultures, structure, processes, and communication. An internship will also allow them to do some timely networking early on in their career.

Students interested in learning more about SMEs, start-ups, as well as larger corporations would be apt to select this career group, allowing them to gain increased networks within the industry and a better understanding of various career pathways and specializations that exist within the industry. Marketing & Creative Industries

Within the professional world marketing not only simply covers billboards and TV spots. It has quickly joined the digital world of website design, graphics, front-end user design, and more. Students wanting to learn more about the processes and opportunities within this industry today will benefit from selecting this career group.

The ability to make a social impact through daily work is a great benefit offered by work with international development organizations, charities, and NGOs.. Students with a strong passion for change but lacking a foundation in business procedures that go into structuring NGOs will benefit from internships exposure in this industry.
