Head of Global Partnerships - North America

Location: Remotely – North America

Position: Head of Global Partnerships

Start date: December 1st, 2020

The Role

As Virtual Internships is entering a high-growth phase we are looking to add an experienced and dynamic leader to our expanding business development team. The Head of Global Partnerships will oversee a team of global Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Account Managers, and will be assisted by the Chief Academic Officer, the Head of Corporate and Innovative Partnerships, the Head of Digital Marketing and the global Program Teams. An average day will involve navigating current partnership leads and outreach, liaising with direct staff on development support and project management, potentially attending a conference or delivery a webinar, and coordinating and approving marketing efforts that align with your engagement strategy.

Responsibilities:

Business development duties (50%):

Lead Nurturing and Development –

  • Manage a portfolio of pending university/organizational partner programs; overseeing strategy for finalizing programs with potential partner institutions
  • Establish new university partner leads through direct outreach, conferences, and networking
  • Develop, conduct, and evaluate campaigns to initiate contact with new institutions across their designated region

Conference Attendance and Planning

  • Attend a variety of in-person and virtual conferences as well as submit successful session proposals with partners
  • Assist entire Partnerships teams in preparing for conferences

New Program Development-

  • Operate as a consultant on the establishment of new programs to university partner contacts as they navigate the creation of virtual internship programs on campus 
  • Conduct campaigns to grow relationships with new departments and contacts laterally across campus

Partnerships Team Management (30%): 

Target and Goal Setting-

  • Support all plans and strategies for developing partnership development and achieving the company’s business development goals
  • Assists in the development of the new partnerships plan. Prepare forecasts and KPI reporting for the partnerships team, and senior leadership, for use in organizational planning, financial forecasting, budget setting and strategic planning.

Partnerships Development Team-

  • Conduct leads meeting with entire team, to reiterate KPIs, discuss new and pending partnerships, and create team cohesion
  • Ensure that all Partnerships Development Managers understand their targets and are supported in successful delivery

Partnerships Account Management Team-

  • Support transition of new accounts from the Partnership Development Managers to Partnership Account Managers.
  • Assist in the management of partner programs spanning a variety of program models including standard, custom, and partial services programs.
  • Facilitate the Partnership Account Managers team’s ability to collect, collate and analyze program reports for internal and external dissemination. 
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of each program following their close each term
  • Create post-program reports and sharing with key team members
  • Support team to foster relationships with participants and alumni of the program, growing the number of global ambassadors at partner universities

Marketing and Communications (15%) –

  • Work with digital teams and marketing colleagues to create co-branded marketing materials for custom programs
  • Work with Chief Academic Officer to deliver thought leadership and research driven outreach
  • Manage Marketing Budget with Senior Leadership approval, overseeing B2B and B2C spends to include conferences, campaigns, digital spends, and travel
  • Ensure communications and outreach is consistent and high-quality across all regions, while adapting communication to fit the needs of the regional market.

General Tasks (5%):

  • Market research
  • Data management in our CRM system

REQUIRED SKILLS 

  • 5+ years of Business Development Experience within the Higher Education system
  • 5+ years managing a team of 4 or more staff
  • Organization and project management skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate and communicate transferable skills. 
  • Prompt and effective communicator via email and telephone
  • Self-motivated and independent
  • Data management or previous use of a CRM system
  • Passion for remote work and/or career development

ROLE SPECIFICATIONS

  • The global and virtual nature of the role allows for flexibility of location and schedule, but will require some early or late meetings. 
  • Position is remotely based with preference given to those based in the Americas, but we will consider those located elsewhere.

Partnerships Manager - Asia

Location:‌ Ideally based in HCMC, Vietnam (our regional office headquarters) but open to remote work for the right candidate 

The Role

As Virtual Internships is entering a high-growth phase with increased scale and depth of partnerships we are seeking to create sustainable support systems within the partnerships team adding regional focus to our development and management of accounts. Across the globe we will regionally focus on the Americas, EMEA, Australia/New Zealand, and Asia. While the full partnerships team will ultimately support each other regardless of geography the Partnerships Manager – Asia will focus on creating partnerships with universities and organizations within the region while maintaining the account management and support of current partnerships. 

An average day will include following up with any leads, writing and compiling a full proposal based on an RFP, collaborating a new account with a partnership inquiry, supporting a referral partner in confirming new students, and preparing to deliver a session at a future virtual conference while collating the contact list for post-session follow-up. 

Responsibilities:

Account Management (40%):

Partnership Support

  • Manage a portfolio of university programs spanning a variety of program models including standard, custom, and partial services programs.
  • Collaborate with university partners to plan the logistics of each program, passing on key details and descriptions to program delivery team
  • Directly communicate any troubleshooting or concerns and create POAs and clear communication plans to reconcile. 

Marketing and Communications

  • Work with digital teams and marketing colleagues to create co-branded marketing materials for custom programs
  • Support thought-leadership and development delivering webinars and sessions about Virtual Internships

Student Support and Recruitment

  • Work with the university partner to create marketing collateral to share with students and faculty to promote our program.
  • Deliver virtual informational sessions and conduct direct student follow-up and outreach post programs.
  • Work with university partners to foster relationships with participants and alumni of the program, growing the number of global ambassadors at partner universities

Program Reporting

  • Work within Zoho, our new tech platform, and with the Company Experience team to deliver high-quality reports to all partners on a set or ad hoc basis
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of each program following their close each term
  • Create post-program reports and sharing with key team members

General Tasks (10%):

  • Market research
  • Data management in our CRM system
  • Support of Partnerships team on global projects

 REQUIRED SKILLS 

  • Fluent in English (ideally IELTS Level 7+, or equivalent)
  • 1+ years of Business Development Experience 
  • 1+ years direct experience working throughout Asia

Intern Experience Manager - Remote Working

Location:‌ ‌Remotely based but actively able to work between 10:00 – 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time

The Role

At Virtual Internships a key component of our programming, support, and successful outcomes is the direct and consistent touchpoints with all participants from application to program conclusion. While these touchpoints come from various stakeholders, one constant in the intern’s experience is the Intern Experience Manager. The Intern Experience Manager is the day-to-day support of all interns – providing assistance during the application process, addressing any technical issues, coaching and advising interns during their internship, and guiding interns through the program evaluation and alumni support offerings. As Virtual Internships grows in participation numbers we are looking for an Intern Experience Manager who can support students from our Americas region, with the assistance of other global Intern Experience Managers and the Head of Intern Experience. 

A Typical Day

A typical day will include:

  • Conducting a few 15 minute pre-advising calls with interns looking to apply and understand the program
  • Liaising with our Company Experience Manager to consult about the interview outcomes of interns who will begin their internship shortly
  • Providing constructive feedback to the interns who were hired by the company and providing next steps
  • Reaching out to an intern that the host company has noted communication concerns about to learn about any challenges they are facing and offer guidance
  • Liaising with the Partnership Account Manager to support reporting of all students on the cohort to their program. 

The role is a mix of advisor, intern coach, account manager, problem-solver, and marketer with no two days looking the same, and a lot of direct student engagement and interaction!

Responsibilities:

Application Support and Advising (25%):

  • Conduct pre-internship advising sessions over the phone with applicants to ensure eligibility for Virtual Internship’s Programs.

 

  • Support troubleshooting and guidance for students completing our Virtual Video Application process
  • Manage general inquiry inbox and chat function to offer text support
  • Conduct info sessions at various partner universities or within our own platform to promote Virtual Internships to students

Program Support and Guidance (50%):

  • Conduct mandatory weekly checkpoints with students to ensure a consistent feedback loop from supervisor -> student -> Virtual Internships occurs.
  • Intervene and offer guidance to any student who is struggling within their internship through offering additional resources, advice, or conducting a check-in coaching session
  • Guide weekly Slack Chats that allow all interns to engage in an open discussion together. 
  • Reinforce understanding of 8 NACE Career Competencies through direct and indirect communication with the students.
  • Support Partnerships Account Manager in reporting student progress back to partners as well as troubleshooting any placement issues. 

Program Reporting (15%):

  • Work within Zoho, our new tech platform, and with the Company Experience team to support the delivery of high-quality reports to internal stakeholders looking to report out
  • Coordinate with reporting team to fix any certificate or report issues, and ensure all students transition from ‘participant’ to ‘program alumni’ successfully
  • Maintaining log of student acceptances and payments to report to Finance and Partnerships Managers

General Tasks (10%):

  • Market research

  • You are highly organized. You will be supporting 100+ student inquiries while integrating university partner requirements at any given time. You will also be liaising with Company Experience Managers to support student placements and reporting.

Digital Marketing Manager - HCMC, Vietnam

As Virtual Internships is entering a high-growth phase with increased scale and depth of partnerships we are seeking a dynamic digital marketing manager to work alongside of and manage a 2 person team of Graphic Designer and Social Media Associate to deliver high-quality SEO campaigns, manage website updates and improvements, and support social media and promotional campaigns. 

An average day will require connecting with the Partnerships Team to support student outreach and marketing, updating google adwords campaign and reporting, liaising with your Social Media Associate to plan a content calendar of creative blogs, linkedin content, and instagram posts, and troubleshooting the creation of a new webpage to showcase student guides. 

Responsibilities:

Website Management :

  • Ownership and responsibility for all corporate online/digital properties, including virtualinternships.com and related corporate websites; this includes content creation, layout & design strategy as well as ensuring core functionality. A core focus will be on user experience and sales enablement support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize user experience
  • Provide ongoing design and maintenance support, optimizing web properties for search engine, digital and social media traffic, and user experience (UI). Ensure website quality and efficiency by conducting regular test plans. Conduct content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information.
  • Implement site governance protocols as well as web content management processes and procedures. This includes writing scope documents, managing source code, and developing technical support standards and procedures.
  • Participate in all phases of projects including development, design, testing and production. This requires a strong understanding and use of web programming languages (such as HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and PHP) and content management systems (such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), WordPress, and Sanity).
  • Write functional specifications for external developers.

Marketing Materials Creation:

  • With support of Graphic Designer maintain and update requested digital marketing materials
  • Create avenues to share crucial resources to include videos, pdfs, and more with external stakeholders
  • Working with the Branding & Social Media lead to leverage content such as testimonials, blogs, and videos that engage with website visitors

 Marketing Campaigns:

  • Planning digital marketing campaigns, including web, SEO/SEM, email, social media and display advertising
  • Managing the budget and relationship with student/graduate-focused advertising platforms
  • Support Social Media Associate in creating and delivering campaigns
  • Coordinate blog creation from internal and external sources for posting
  • Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests
  • Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners

Search Engine Optimization:

  • Developing and implementing effective search engine optimization (SEO) strategies
  • Coordinating content, design, social media, pay-per-click (PPC) marketing and other activities
  • Managing offsite and onsite optimization projects and reporting on performance
  • Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Prioritize opportunities for engagement based on business case and data, and measure progress using KPIs. Develop key performance metrics to improve websites’ activity, functionality, and user experience. Report and analyze user trends and recommend changes to website properties through A/B testing and content targeting to increase traffic and conversion metrics.
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Effectively set targets and key metrics to reach
  • Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points

General Tasks:

  • Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate
  • Data management in our CRM system

 Desirable Skills/Mindset:

  • You have new ideas (from best practice or innovation) and take an experiment-led approach: you try new things, track/measure them and quickly work out which ones work
  • You’re self-sufficient: you know (or can quickly learn) everything you need for doing digital marketing yourself – give us evidence of something you’ve taught yourself.
  • Experience of managing marketing campaigns, ideally targeting students-  this can include working with student focused advertising platforms or similar channels
  • Experience in using Google Analytics to inform strategy
  • Familiarization with maintaining a WordPress and Drupal website
  • Familiarity of SEO techniques and optimising Google Adword campaigns
  • Previous experience with Zoho CRM and/or ZohoCampaigns (Advantageous, but not essential) 
  • Previous experience with SEO tools such as AHRefs, SEMRush (Advantageous, but not essential) 
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Great communication skills, fluent spoken English and excellent grammar

Social Media Associate - HCMC, Vietnam

Location:‌ ‌Ideally based in HCMC at our regional office headquarters.

The Role

As Virtual Internships is entering a high-growth phase with increased scale and depth of partnerships we are seeking a dynamic Social Media Associate to work alongside a 3 person team of Graphic Designer and Digital Marketing Manager to deliver engaging social media content and campaigns.

An average day will require creating and posting daily social media posts on Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, coordinating with Marketing Manager to create and implement a blog calendar, having a meeting with a Partnerships Account Manager on how to create a custom campaign for a specific university, and responding to new testimonials and comments received on review sites. 

Responsibilities:

Social Media Campaigns :

  • Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
  • Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals
  • Set specific objectives and report on ROI
  • Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news)
  • Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics
  • Work with copywriters and designers to ensure content is informative and appealing
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Product Development teams
  • Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network

Blogging:

  • Organize and implement a content editorial calendar to support integrated campaigns and SEO requirements.
  • Develop content including whitepapers, blogs, bylines, ebooks and other written pieces to support our SEO, awareness and demand generation strategies.
  • Develop content and write copy for use across all platforms and in customer communications to drive engagement and retention – including email campaigns, social media, website, marketing materials and B2B communications.
  • Manage and assist with all communications, marketing, public relations and promotional activities to support brand and marketing strategies.
  • Contribute to editing of sales enablement materials.
  • Manage social media articles and posts across all brand platforms.

General Tasks:
